Putting It All Together

This series of Defending Your Faith lectures was a 4-month journey that delved into the fascinating area of Christian apologetics. If you have been following this series, I hope you at least came to the understanding that the arguments Christians give for why they believe what they believe are based on rational and reasonable thinking developed by many philosophers, theologians and even scientists over many centuries.

My intention with this series of lectures was to build a mosaic of arguments that progressively walks an open-minded non-believer from atheism, to the belief that a God exists, to the belief that this God is the Christian God, culminating finally to the belief that Jesus Christ lived, died and rose again, thus validating Jesus' message and ultimately showing that Christianity is true.

You may find yourself actually disagreeing with, or at least unable to accept, some of the conclusions to some of the arguments presented (how many people really understand the full ramifications of the Ontological Argument? :-) But if you look at the breadth and depth of these arguments as a whole - many whose conclusions you will find rational and reasonable to believe in - you will see that it provides extraordinary explanatory scope and power to the truth of Christianity.

That is, obviously, my opinion; ultimately it is up to each individual person to examine the evidence, listen to the arguments from all sides with an open mind, and make the best judgement that allows them to justify their beliefs. But remember one thing - this isn't about what you want to believe in or what you hope is true. Truth stands or falls regardless of what you want it to be.

If you are interested in studying this material further, I have bundled all of the lectures together into a single .pdf file for you to be able to download and read. I hope you find it useful. If you or someone you know needs to "hear more" before committing to Christianity, feel free to refer them to this material. If they are like me, it might just work a miracle :)
